Kakabeka Falls near Thunder Bay, Ontario is the second highest waterfall in the province, with a drop of about 40m (130 ft) - it is often called "the Niagara of the North". On kaministiquia river, it is surrounded by wonderful nature and landscape the falls is accessible all year round, with great view points.
The name comes from the indigenous Canadian first nations word "gakaabikaa" - in translation: "waterfall over a cliff"
